Within the Shire of Gingin, there are two areas Gazetted for use of off-road vehicles. The Ledge Point Off-Road Vehicle Area caters for motorbikes only, whereas the Lancelin Off-Road Vehicle Area can be used by trail bikes, four-wheel motorbikes, beach buggies or four-wheel drive vehicles.
Please note: all vehicles using this area MUST be registered, either carrying Road registration or Off Road registration before they can be driven or ridden in the Off Road Area.

Camping and Picnics
There are a number of picnic sites available throughout the region, with beach sites available at Wilbinga (4wd access only) and Wilbinga Grove, on Indian Ocean Drive. Sandy Cape, just north of Jurien Bay, is popular for beach camping, with a small fee payable.
The Moore River estuary is a paddler’s dream. There is a dedicated launching point with parking and ablutions at Silver Creek, about 1.5km upstream from the river mouth. Non-motorised zones have been designated at Silver Creek, the river mouth and upstream from Diamond Island, making the Moore River safe and enjoyable for paddlers.
Depending on water levels, the river offers up to a further 9 kms of paddling upstream past Diamond Island and Woodridge boat ramp towards Boobabie Bridge.
There are at least a dozen shipwrecks off the coast between Two Rocks and Jurien Bay, including the Vergulde Draeck (Gilt Dragon) which was wrecked in 1656. Lancelin Island Nature Reserve is only 500 metres off shore and surrounded by coral and limestone reefs. The Lancelin Island Lagoon on the western side of the island is classified as a Fish Habitat Protection Area.
There are numerous locations along the coast for beach fishing, where you can catch tailor, herring, whiting, flathead, mulloway. The Moore River is popular for Bream fishing. Lancelin Jetty is also a great fishing spot for kids.

The natural environment boasts the perfect location for beginners to advanced paddlers and bookings to demo the Redpaddle Co inflatable boards are always welcome.
We are also home to WA ‘s biggest family stand up Paddle-board. The XL board which can carry big groups or families to enjoy together.

The Gravity Discovery Centre and Observatory is an exciting science education facility with activities for adults and children. Home to the Leaning Tower of Gingin, the Gingin Observatory, the Cosmology Gallery and the Solar System Walk. The GDC is one of Australia’s most exciting science discovery centres, with a wide range of activities for all ages.
The GDC has become a major tourist destination in the area. The wildflower season is just spectacular and the art exhibitions in the Cosmology Gallery are visually stunning. Hands-on exhibits, wildflowers, bushwalks, art – it’s an EXPERIENCE not to be missed! Refreshments available. Closed on Monday open every other day.

Guilderton Golf Club
9 hole course set in a bush reserve with watered grass trees, fairways and sand greens. Honour Box $15 per day. Golf clubs and carts are for hire from the Moore River Roadhouse. Scrounger competitions on Wednesday arvo 2pm tee off for nine holes and club competitions Saturday noon tee off for eighteen holes.
This is a new and growing international sport for all ages. Like golf but with a size 5 soccer ball, you kick off from the tee with the aim of using the minimum number of kicks to hole the ball. Scorecards are available at the No. 1 Tee. Honour Box $10 per day and soccer balls can by hired from the Country Club or Caravan Park.
Guilderton Bowling Club
Guilderton Bowling Club offers an all season quality synthetic bowling green with bowls, mats and kitty available for public use. Honour Box $5 per player. Floodlights are available for evening social events at an additional $25 charge. Bookings can be made for team and group events.
Take a stroll along the various walk trails throughout the Moore River region. Enjoy walks along the jetty’s and board walks and don’t forget to take photos from the lookouts-watch and listen to the abundance of bird life. Look out for those fabulous wild flowers on your walks in Spring each year.

Located directly behind the township of Lancelin, the sand dunes are the largest in the state containing absolutely nothing but pure white sand and no vegetation. They are around 2 kilometres long and provide the perfect spot for sandboarding and 4-wheel driving. A spectacular sight at sunrise or sunset.

The Ledge Point Country Club is the hub of social and sporting activities in Ledge Point. Centrally located it is the ideal meeting place for locals and visitors to the town. The Club is open seven days a week and meals are served on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. A range of sporting activities are available.
The Ledge Point Golf Club is located on the grounds of the Country Club. It is a nine hole fully grassed course. Additional tees and some extra greens make it an easy 18 hole course. Green fees are $10 for members and $20 for non-members per day. This entitles you to play as many holes as you wish. An honour box is situated at the green building on the edge of the golf course. Score cards and envelopes are provided there. Equipment can also be hired.
Guests to the country club can play Bowls when the green is not being used for competition. The cost is $5 per player and an honour box is situated on the patio wall for placement of fees. Equipment is available at the Club.
The restaurant opens at 5:30pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights every week.
During holiday periods and on special occasions the restaurant opens for lunch and additional nights for dinner.

The Lancelin sand dunes are a popular spot for sandboarding. There is an area designated for Sandboarding and Off Road vehicles in the Lancelin Dunes that is a great sand playground.

Lancelin is a world renowned windsurfing venue, with the annual Indian Ocean Classic attracting windsurfers from around the world. The offshore reefs also provide an excellent surf break at the Back Beach.
The mouth of the Moore River is a popular place for kids to swim. A natural sandbar separates the river from the ocean, forming a pristine beach. There are also good swimming beaches at Ledge Point and Lancelin.
Undoubtedly one of Western Australia’s most unique and interesting attractions, these remarkable stone monuments are located only 4 kilometres from the beach, within the Nambung National Park. The stone rises out of the sandy desert like the remains of an ancient city. For great viewing, visit the area at sunrise or sunset.

The Watheroo Wildflower Drive is well worth a look as it features one of the only patches of E.Rhodantha (Rose Mallee) in the world. You can also spot rare and beautiful orchids along the way as well as many different varieties of wildflower.
More than 400 caves have been recorded in the Yanchep National Park, and there are many ways you can enjoy them. Crystal Cave is a magnificent ‘stream cave’, with regular guided tours available. There is also a range of more challenging ‘adventure caves’. Cabaret Cave is a unique venue available for conferences and social functions.
Yanchep National Park
Known as Perth’s natural and cultural meeting place, Yanchep National Park is one of Perth’s oldest and most popular national parks.
